Kasteel de Marnix de Sainte Aldegonde

Bornem's original castle was one of the oldest moated castles in the province of Antwerp. Since 1780 it has been owned by the family of lords of Sint-Aldegonde, who completely rebuilt the castle in 1888 into a neo-Gothic walled castle. The castle and its coach house with 40 old carriages is a real'Loire castle in Flanders\\\', beautifully situated in the valuable nature of the Old Scheldt. The castle exhibits rich collections of paintings, 18th century furniture, engravings, Chinese lace and porcelain. Attention is paid to the rich history thanks to the exhibition on Marnix van Sainte Aldegonde (1540-1598).
