Het Steengelaag

The Steengelaag is an area of 31 ha and is a former clay extraction pit. It consists of clay pits, young alder forest, an older poplar plantation, a large pond and a flowery hay meadow. The clay dredger at the youngest clay pit recalls the period from 1913 to the late 1970s, when these machines were used for clay drawing.
