Panoramamolen

The Panorama Mill is located on a remnant of the old wall of Rhenen. The Binnenmolen was built in 1893 on the same site as its predecessor, a post mill that stood on the bastion of the northern city wall of Rhenen for centuries. In 1934 the mill was internally demolished and converted into a café-restaurant. A number of windows were made in the hood to allow the mill to serve as a watchtower. This explains the local name 'Panoramamolen'. The mill, together with the Cuneratoren, determines the silhouette of Rhenen. The position of the high Binnenmolen offers a beautiful view over Rhenen and the Nederrijn with its floodplains.
