Streekcentrum Ooievaarsdorp Het Liesvelt

Because the stork was in danger of disappearing from the Netherlands, this site was purchased by the Bird Protection in 1969 for the establishment of a stork village. After 30 years of breeding, the goal was achieved and there were again more than 1,000 storks in the Netherlands. The cages disappeared and the stork village was transformed into a regional center.
