Rivier De Vlist

The Vlist runs through the Krimpenerwaard from Schoonhoven to Haastrecht and has traditionally been important for the transport of goods from Schoonhoven to Utrecht. It was also used as a reservoir for the polders around the river. Today, however, the Vlist mainly has a recreational function. The beautiful location makes the river popular with cyclists and walkers. Along the Vlist are a number of historic farms and polder mills, which complete the photogenic picture. The Vlist flows into the Hollandsche IJssel.
