Esdorp Beerze

The esdorp of Beerze has a protected village view, mainly because you will find authentic Saxon farms here. Each of these farms is not much older than 150 years. The hamlet of Beerze probably arose around 900. At that time there were several farms, each with its own field, the so-called house camp. In the late Middle Ages, farmers started to engage in increasingly intensive farming. Beerze then turned into an esdorp with a green area to collect the cattle in the morning and in the evening. More and more manure was needed for agriculture and therefore more and more cows and pigs were kept by farmers. In addition, Beerze has long served as a stopping place for Vecht skippers who were on their way from Germany to Zwolle. On the Beerze estate you will find Huize Beere, a villa from 1925. Cycle or walk past this villa and be amazed.
