The work of the jewelry and glass artist Ren? Lalique (1860-1945) is very diverse. Lalique is also called the Da Vinci of jewelry and glass art. The objects are filled with symbolism and "secret" details. From 1876 he started his career making jewelery. From jewelery he grew to glass art. Initially these were small 'cire perdue' objects. Lalique designed perfume bottles for various perfume houses. From the First World War, Lalique manufactured vases, dishes, lamps and very large objects on behalf of wealthy individuals and companies. In the museum in Doesburg you can view a broad section of Lalique's work. Guides give you an oral explanation of the works. In addition, there is a media room in the museum where you can view the process of glassblowing in the present time. Throughout the museum you can find touch screens and LED screens with information about the details and the symbols behind the objects.
