Scheepswerf Groot

This small shipyard is located in the center of Edam. From the 15th century onwards, numerous ships were built here, culminating in the 16th century. From the 17th century, shipbuilding was gradually moved to cities such as Zaandam and Amsterdam. This yard is the last vestige of this once thriving industry.
