Vlisco
Vlisco is a Dutch company that makes textiles based on the batik technique. The company has been around since the beginning of the 19th century when Jan Willem Sutorius established a small textile hand printing company here. Around 1852 Vlisco started making and selling imitation batik in what was then the Dutch East Indies. That sale was expanded to West Africa. When Indonesia? became independent, sales of the fabrics were moved entirely to Africa. These substances are still sold there today.
