Barokkerk Zwillbrock

Opposite the Barokkerk is Hotel-Restaurant Kloppendiek, named after the oak avenue. During the Eighty Years' War, the Roman Catholic faithful reached the church in Zwillbrocker Venn via this lane. The practice of this faith was forbidden for decades in the Protestant Netherlands. By knocking on the door they warned each other that it was time to go to mass.
