De Kamper Kogge / Koggewerf in Kampen

The Kamper Kogge is the only sailing cog in the Netherlands. A cog is an old ship that was used in the Hanseatic period to transport goods. An attempt was made to create the most authentic image of a merchant ship from the fourteenth century on this ship. The Koggewerf is home to the Kamper Kogge. The ship is docked here, so that visitors can view the ship from the inside and outside. The wharf on the river IJssel houses a carpentry workshop, a blacksmith shop, a sewing workshop, an exhibition space with information about the Hanseatic era and medieval finds, a storytelling theater, a fish smoke house, a medieval fisherman's house and a tavern.
