Begijnhof Lier

Lier still has a beautiful beguinage that was founded in the 13th century. However, the current buildings mainly date from the 17th century. At various places in the beguinage you will find houses where lace circles make the real Lier lace. A monumental gate gives access to the completely closed court with several streets and alleys. The Grachtkant is a fine example of Brabant architecture. The beguinage church dedicated to Saint Margarita has an impressive baroque interior and a monumental organ.
