P03 - Stroe - Houtbeek

The Houtbeek near Stroe probably dates from the last ice age when melt water cut a channel in the landscape. The brook had a great attraction for prehistoric man. As far back as the Middle Stone Age, hunter-gatherers set up temporary hunting camps there. 5000 years ago the first farmers settled here.
