The Wildenborch is a castle that probably dates from the 14th century. It is unknown when the castle was built exactly, but it was first mentioned on paper in 1372. During this time the Wildenborgh was hidden between large swamp areas. The castle was therefore the ideal hiding place for the robber baron who was the owner of the castle at that time. In 1523 the then duke had the defenses demolished and he had the castle guarded so that it would no longer be used as a robber's hideout. The swamps around the castle were partly drained in 1792 to create a deciduous forest. In 1907 the estate was sold, after which wood buyers completely cut down the forest. In 1924 the ponds were filled with tree remains that were still on the estate. The estate is freely accessible, but the house and the immediate vicinity of the house are usually closed to the public. It is only allowed to come here on special occasions.
