M62 - Ingen - Geldersweert

The remains of Geldersweert Castle, a fortified house of the Dukes of Gelre, lie in the floodplains near Ingen. Duke Karel van Gelre gave it as a wedding present to his bastard son Karel van Gelre tot Spankeren. The castle was demolished in the early 19th century. The name Geldersweert has been kept alive since 2003 by the name of the ferry Ingen-Elst.
