M61 - Buren - Oranjestad

Frederik van Egmond, nicknamed Schele Gijs, received the Buren manor from his uncle Arnold, duke of Guelders, in 1472 as a compensation for expenses incurred. 1498 to count of Buren and Leerdam. Since 1551, the county of Buren has been closely associated with the House of Oranje Nassau.
