Visit the website
The Noorsche Huis in Gorssel is one of the few remaining prefabricated houses in the Norwegian dragon style in the Netherlands. Characteristic of this style are the decorations on the roof and on the facade in the form of dragon heads and tails. This style was originally used in the construction of Viking ships. Het Noorsche Huis was built in 1913. At the end of the nineteenth century, the Norwegian steam sawmill Str? Mmen Traevarefabrik started making wooden houses as ready-made kits. These packages were shipped to destinations around the world. In 1903 a Norwegian house was sent from this factory to Arnhem to exhibit the house there at an arts and crafts exhibition. The kit was transported by sea to Rotterdam and by rail to Gorssel. There the house was put together and it still stands today. These ready-made houses were made on the cultural-historical past of Scandinavia. good to visualize.
