L61 - Apeldoorn - Woeste Hoeve

In March 1945, De Woeste Hoeve was the scene of a bloody drama. The highest ranking Dutch SS officer Rauter was seriously injured here in an accidental attack. His revenge was gruesome: 263 prisoners were executed throughout the Netherlands, including 117 at the Woeste Hoeve. It is the largest mass execution of the Dutch war years.
