Fort Werk Aan 't Spoel

Werk aan het Spoel was built in 1815 as part of the New Dutch Waterline. The Work consists of a number of fortifications to protect the inlet sluice of the Lek. With this lock, part of the land between Lek and Linge could be flooded. Recently, an activity center cum restaurant has been built here, the Forthuis.
