Grolsch fabriek

Grolsch originated in Groenlo. The first Grolsch beer was brewed here in 1615 at Brouwerij De Klok. This brewery has been transformed into a museum where you can learn more about the history of Grolsch and the brewing process. In the museum you can watch a film about the life of Peter Kuijper, the guild master of the Brewers' Guild in Groenlo in 1676 and the owner of the Grolsch brewery. You will see this film in the cellar, exactly the place where Grolsch beer was first brewed. You can also visit a well that was used to brew the beer. In the winter, ice was chopped from the Groenlo canal to keep the beer cool in the summer. When you've seen everything in the museum, you can go to the café. reminisce with a nice beer. Grolsch, of course.
