SCHOONHOVEN

Schoonhoven is known as the silver city of the Netherlands. In addition to the Dutch Gold, Silver and Clock Museum, the Museum of Knipkunst and the Schoonhoven Edelambachtshuys are also worth a visit. The 15th century town hall has a carillon. The ferry gate is a last remnant of the 16th and 17th century ramparts. Not to be missed is the pointed and over fifty meter high water tower, the oldest in the Krimpenerwaard.
