Strijen Castle, also known as the Slotbosse Toren, was a castle in Oosterhout. It has a long history, as it dates back to 1288. The castle has been in ruins since the clash of arms of the Eighty Years' War. Not much remains of the castle. A piece of the tower is all that remains. But it is impressive, a 25-meter-high structure, still standing proudly at the intersection of the Hoofseweg and the Bovensteweg. This ruin is located on an island with ditches around it. A bridge connects the tower with the environment. You imagine yourself in the 14th century.
