Nederlands Mijnmuseum

The Dutch mining museum is now located on the site of the Oranje Nassau mine in Heerlen. Thirty years after the mine closure, this talking museum was resurrected and takes you back to a day in the life of a miner. Many original pieces show you how everything was done to get as much coal to the surface as quickly as possible. The ever-rotating shaft wheels keep the mining past alive.
