Natuurdiorama Holterberg

At Natuurdiorama Holterberg on the Sallandse Heuvelrug you will find one of the largest collections of European animal species. You will see more than 1000 stuffed animals here, from the largest songbird in the Netherlands to the only monkey that occurs in Europe. View the eleven life-size dioramas with animals in their natural habitat. You have never been this close to a deer or any other animal. The museum is suitable for young and old, because treasure hunts are also organized for young people, for example. The nature diorama was founded in 1938 by Piet Bos, a great nature lover and animal lover. The aim was to bring people closer to nature by showing them the beautiful flora and fauna on and around the Holterberg. Over the years, the museum has been expanded further and further. Many of the animals that can be seen here have been prepared by Piet Bos himself.
