Museum Kennemerland is located on the outskirts of Beverwijk. Here you will learn more about the history of Midden-Kennemerland on the basis of prints, old maps, archaeological finds and utensils that were used in this region in the past. View here, for example, Velser pottery, a collection of Tapijtknoperij Kinheim, Rederijker's coats of arms, objects that were used for agriculture and horticulture and items from the former industry in this area. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum also has changing exhibitions. Museum Kennemerland is located in the former town hall of Wijk aan Zee en Duin. This municipality was merged in 1936 into the new municipality of Beverwijk. The museum was founded by an exhibition in 1927 commemorating 650 years of market rights in Beverwijk. The museum has been located at its current location since 1991. The museum is open every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from April to September from 2 pm to 5 pm. In October to March the museum is open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 2 pm to 5 pm.
