Informatiecentrum Kust

In this information center you will find the interactive exhibition 'Sand against the Sea'. Here you can see, hear and experience how the coast between Petten and Camperduin has been reinforced with a lot of sand: about 35 million cubic meters. You will also learn more about the dikes in North Holland. How is water management now, for example, and what is still planned for the future? And does climate change have a major impact on water management? You will find out all about it here. Over the centuries there have been many flood disasters in this area. For example, the flood during the All Saints' Flood in 1570 killed 20,000 people. Today, the water in this region is under control, but a lot has to be done to achieve this. This exhibition is also interesting for children because there are all kinds of interactive things to do. You can visit the information center between 1 April and 1 November on Tuesdays to Sundays between 10 am and 4 pm. From November 1 to April 1, the center is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays between 10:00 and 16:00. Entrance is free.
