Estate
Landgoed De Beek
The history of this estate dates back to 1570. Sand was formerly excavated on the site of this estate for the manufacture of bricks at a brick factory. The sand was transported by boat. The waterways that were created as a result still characterize the area. The area now serves as a park garden around the villa Oud-Bussum. This villa with the adjoining stables and the dairy was built between 1902 and 1906. The dairy is now used as a residence. The De Beek area has been state property since 1945. The 18 hectare area is landscaped in the English landscape style with many lakes, ditches and conifers. The area is hilly and is crossed by water that rises from the bottom. Landgoed de Beek and the surrounding forests are freely accessible for walkers and cyclists. Villa Oud-Bussum is also easy to reach to admire the building. You can simply walk there.
