Country estates and estates
Buitenplaats Spaensweerd
The historic country estate Spaensweerd is a typical example of the presence of considerable noble families in Brummen. The house was founded in 1326 by the Spaen family, landed nobility (as opposed to court nobility). Spaensweerd comprises a neoclassical house with a core from the 17th century and a park-like garden. Both the house and the garden are a national monument. The front garden is symmetrical, the back garden is landscaped. The gardens are open to the public a few times a year.
