Kasteel Ooidonk

Independently fortified building from the Middle Ages that was easily defended at that time and in the past was mostly inhabited by the noble families of Belgium. Castle Ooidonk is one of the highlights in the Leie region. The moated castle is grand, strict and lush in an old Leie bend and is surrounded by a beautiful park of 45 hectares. Ooidonk is sometimes described as one of the most beautiful castles in this country and as a jewel of Flemish-Spanish 16th century architecture. The gardens can also be visited.
