Unfortunately, the planners of Operation Market Garden overlook the fact that there is a usable airport here. Please note, close to the advance route to Arnhem. The first allied aircraft do not land here until September 25, 1944. A day later, a gigantic amount of war material and personnel are flown in from England by the Americans. Unfortunately, this is too late for the success of Market Garden.
