The residents of Huissen have had a hard time during the last war years. Heavy Allied bombing ravaged the town, killing and injuring hundreds. Most victims find their final resting place in a mass grave. Pure necessity; wood for so many coffins was not available in those times of scarcity. The suffering is indescribable.
