The Jachtslot de Mookerheide estate has great allure. Allure that was recognized by His Royal Highness Prince Hendrik at the beginning of the last century. In June 1940 the Germans claimed this beautiful castle and it became a country retreat for the dreaded Waffen-SS. Many Dutch volunteers from that time can, sometimes with difficulty, have a say in the matter.
