Holten's Molen

This belt mill from 1890 was expanded in 1893 with an oil mill. In 1909 the mill was connected to a tree saw. This gave the mill, originally a flour mill, three functions at the same time. In 1942 the mill got streamlined blades, which suddenly meant that much less wind was needed to grind. From 1960 the mill was no longer used and then Holten's mill quickly fell into disrepair. In 1969, a roadside fire spread to the mill and caused heavy damage. Recovery was not considered and the future of the mill was feared, but from 1990 the Holten 's Molen foundation took care of the belt mill. Nowadays the mill runs on a voluntary basis again.
