Klaverblad

The Klaverblad is a small sawmill that was built between 2000 and 2005 on the Zaanse Schans. The owner of the plot of land on which this mill is built has long had the desire to build his own small mill on this spot. From 2000, he made his dream a reality with the help of financing from the BankGiro Loterij. The mill is a hollow post mill with scaffolding on a barn. This mill type had completely disappeared from the Zaan region, but the construction of the Klaverblad brought this mill type back again. In the past, these small wood saw mills were mainly used to earn some money by sawing beams and planks. Wood is still sawn on a voluntary basis with the mill and the mill can also be visited by appointment with the miller. The name of the mill is a reference to the four daughters of the miller couple.
