The De Bonte Hen windmill was built in 1975 as an oil mill. The mill was built on the site where a mill with this name previously stood from 1693 to 1935. This mill was partially demolished and after that the remaining part of the mill and the barn was used as a storage place for years. From 1973 the mill remnant was rebuilt into an oil mill. The oil work was renewed between 1977 and 1979 and after that there was frequent oil beating with the mill. The mill was repaired in 2014 and in 2015 the mill was operational for the first time in months. The mill is still running today and you can buy all kinds of oil products such as linseed oil.
