Windmill
Lageveensemolen
The Lageveensemolen is a hollow post mill that was built in 1890. The predecessor of this mill burned down and was replaced that same year by the current mill. The old mill was moved twice during the construction of the Leidsevaart and the construction of the Haarlem-The Hague railway line. Until 1990 this mill was used to drain the Lageveense polder. Subsequently, milling was carried out on a voluntary basis with this mill for a long time. In 2015 it turned out that the mill needed a new rod to remain in operation and later more defects surfaced that caused the mill to be stopped. The mill can be visited by appointment.
