De Kalkmolen

The mill originally drained the Kalkpolder near Leiderdorp with its outside scoop wheel. In 1958 the mill became the property of the municipality of Leiderdorp. Before it was moved to Hoogmade in 2006, the mill was in poor condition, with a lot of overdue maintenance. Due to the uncertain future at the time, no major maintenance was carried out before 2006. Due to the construction of a residential area near the old site, the windmill in Leiderdorp had to disappear.
