Poptaslot

Poptaslot was founded in the 15th century by the Heringa family. In 1603 it became the property of the Van Eysinga family. A major renovation took place in 1631. Henricus Popta bought it in 1687. When he died in 1712 he left Poptaslot to the Poptagasthuis, a rest home for poor women. The house is now decorated in 17th and 18th century style. Today it has the function of a museum.
