The Fort bij Veldhuis is one of the oldest concrete fortresses on the Defense Line of Amsterdam and is named after the nearby farm 'Veldhuis', which still exists. Since 1989, the fort has housed the Air War Museum of the Aircraft Recovery Group 1940-1945 foundation. The old rooms are now filled with impressive remains of bombers and other objects from the Second World War. Open every Sunday in the months of May to October from 10 am to 5 pm.
