Borg Welgelegen

Borg Welgelegen was founded in 1655 by Jan Cornelis Spiel. At that time many administrators and entrepreneurs moved from the city to the peat area. A good living could be made in the peat digging industry. The Borg got its current appearance around 1740. After the occupation of prominent families, the house fell into disrepair. Mr. Cornelis Alexander Star Numan bought the deposit and he had the deposit and garden restored. The garden and the deposit are a national monument.
