Menkemaborg

The Menkemaborg was built in the 14th century and is one of the beautiful borgen in the province of Groningen. Originally it was a defensible stone house. Today it is an 18th century Baroque house. The Menkemaborg is surrounded by canals with special gardens in between. Menkemaborg has been open as a museum since 1927.
