Borg Ekenstein

The Ekenstein deposit was built in 1648 by order of the physician and later mayor of Groningen Johan Eeck and his wife Johanna Bernards from Farmsum. The deposit was expanded in 1772. A moat was also added. In 1946 Ekenstein became the property of the municipality.
