Visit this national monument during your tour and enjoy the tranquility of the building and the architecture of Pierre Cuypers. In this former major seminary, the Diocese of Breda was founded in 1853 and is today used as a (conference) hotel-brasserie and the first floor still houses a priest and deacon training course. In this neo-Gothic building you will not only find the typical Cuypers influences in the beautiful corridors, colonnades, chapel, stained glass panels and the library, but also its progressive, sustainable technical masterpieces for that time. Pierre Cuypers also designed the Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam Central Station, with which Bovendonk has some architectural similarities.
