Abdij Maria Toevlucht

Maria Toevlucht Abbey has been the quiet and green residence of a community of monks since 1899. The monastery was a sanctuary for monks during the French Revolution. Originally the monastery consisted of the building that now serves as a guest quarter and later a chapel was also added. After 1909, more buildings were built behind the monastery. Some of these served as workshops: a bakery, a laundry and a blacksmith shop. Furthermore, a church was also built.
