Treinstation Kampen

The monumental station building has a beautiful station hall in Jugendstil and is located on the other side of the IJssel (on the IJselmuidense side). Kampen is the end station (end station) of the Kamperlijntje that runs from Zwolle to Kampen. From the station, if you cross the IJssel city bridge, you are in the center of the city of Kampen. The old Hanseatic city has quite a few old to very old buildings, including remnants of the old city wall (Koornmarktspoort, Cellebroederpoort, Broederpoort), and the Boven- or St-Nicolaaskerk. The structure of the walled city fortress is still clearly visible in the street plan. But also a walk or bike ride along the IJsel invites. Kampen is definitely worth a day trip by train.
