Luchtwachttoren 7Z3

Luchtwachttoren 7Z3 Schoonebeek dates from 1954. This type of watchtower was built throughout the Netherlands in the 1950s by the Air Force Corps (KLD). They were intended to detect planes flying under the radar. Most towers of the total of 138 air watch towers have since been demolished. Air watchtower 7Z3 has been preserved and renovated in 2019. The poplars that were originally around the tower for camouflage have been removed.
