Church

Laurenskerk

A church is built on a mound in 1646. Right in the corner of the old fishing village. The original entrance is therefore on the east side, the side of the Old and New Streek. The original church is made of wood but it was destroyed in a great fire in 1788. In 1792 the current church was built in the form of a half cruciform church. In 18564 there is a restoration of the church and interior. In 1966 the Laurenskerk was in poor condition and was bought by the village for 1 guilder. The church is being nicely renovated by a new foundation and from then on it is also used for cultural and social activities.
