Klooster

The monastery was first home to the brothers of the Order of Franciscans. The brothers left and from 1960 the Poor Clares lived in the monastery. In 1988 the sisters left and the monastery came into other hands. Since 1994 the monastery has been used as a seminary. This is an institution for the training of clergy. In the Catholic Church this is usually under the leadership of a rector. The International Diocesan Missionary Major Seminary Redemptoris Mater of the diocese of Haarlem-Amsterdam is located in the monastery. They receive young men with a calling to become priests and form them for the new evangelization.
