Wieringer Aak WR4
Around 1900, Mr. Ten Bokkel had a larger barge built than he already had at the ship's carpenter Nijdam from Van Ewijcksluis. That was the WR4. In the spring, Ten Bokkel used it to fish for herring and anchovies, and in the summer for mullet and flounder. In autumn and winter on crickets and cockles for the Belgian and English markets and also on mussels for Germany. Seagrass has never been fished with this ship. The Aak was restored in 2000 - 2004, with a wet bun and hand-sewn flax cloth (linen) sails.
