Cycling through the Scheldt country

During this cycle route you explore the Scheldt country and cycle through small villages such as Boom, Terhagen and Heffen, but you also pass the Burgundian city of Mechelen. You will also explore the intermediate areas of these places and get to know the beautiful nature that the area has to offer.

Starting point: Rupel
The starting point of this route of over 50 kilometers is De Velodroom in Boom. Here you can find all information about cycling and walking options in the Rupel region and the Scheldeland. Here you can also rent a bicycle, charge your electric bicycle or have a minor repair done. At cycling café De Musette you can enjoy your cycling route.

Burgundian Mechelen
A little later you cycle straight through the pleasant city of Mechelen. Mechelen is located in the heart of Flanders, halfway between Brussels and Antwerp. Historic buildings and narrow streets take you back in time. The Burgundian century was an exciting time for Mechelen as the Burgundian capital of the Netherlands. And Mechelen is still known as a pleasant, exuberant city. You leave Mechelen and cycle for quite some time along the Dijle river. Here you can completely relax.
